More fun than a barrel of monkeys

In 2018 I made several paintings in a series I call Animal Friends. This one features a white bat sharing a laugh with two piranha chums. Bat, on a piece of metal. 36.5x12ins. The rusty bits have been epoxied. This was a fantastic surface to paint on, I loved how nicely the paint moved across this very smooth surface -- that kind of crashes into the rusty bits.

Lately, I've been using (usually) second-hand canvasses from thrift stores -- not all the time, but more often. It's good because when you change surfaces you have to change techniques, which pose challenges that keep you critically engaged. Or not, lol. Anyway, painting is fun, and I enjoyed my time with this jolly trio.
